More Gyrfalcons on January
13, 2008
After we found the juvenile
gyrfalcon in the morning on the Fort Pierre National Grassland, I went north in
the afternoon. I saw three different gyrfalcons. I was able to photograph these
two, the other was flying over a corn field about 1/4 mile from the road.
I
This adult gyrfalcon was about 3 miles NE of
Gray Goose. It flew off the pole before I could get stopped and this is all I
got for a photo. It flew out of sight to the northwest.
This juvenile gyrfalcon was along Highway 1804,
north of the road to Okobojo Point. A few minutes later I saw another adult
flying north of the Okobojo Point road, about 2 miles from Highway 1804.
