Crissal Thrasher and some other photos taken Jan. 30-31, Cave Creek and Portal Area
This morning, my third visit to the Dave
Jasper feeders, I finally saw a Crissal Thrasher.
I had just barely got set up and sat down, when I saw the bird at the water. Not
the best photos, but I was happy to get them.
A little later, I saw this bird land in a bush very close. At first I thought it
was just another Ruby-crowned
Kinglet, but it didn't act like one, so I took a quick shot before it flew off.
When I looked at the photo I could see the vireo bill, another Hutton's Vireo!
I've got quite few photos of Mexican Jays but they were always under the canopy
and I had to use flash.
Yesterday, I had some of them right out in the sunlight at Sunny Flats CG.
