Great Basin National Park, Nevada
September 5, 2019
A Bushtit I photographed before leaving California. This is the
coastal race, which I have not photographed before.
Another Cassin's Vireo
Western Fence Lizard, lifer! Photographed at the
Bob Scott Campground, near Austin, Nevada.
A Sage Thrasher in molt. I saw several of them just a few miles
south of Ely, Nevada. They were catching grasshoppers in a parking lot.
Hoary Comma, lifer butterfly. In a mountain meadow
near Wheeler Peak, Great Basin National Park.
I ran into a flock of Pinyon Jays on my way out of Great Basin National Park
(Friday morning) and at least one of them cooperated for me, posing in a
Pinyon Pine.
