Waldport and Newport Areas
August 23, 2019
A female Great Spangled Fritillary, they look a lot different in the Pacific
Northwest.
I think this is a Pacific Tree Frog, but I don't have any field guides to the
area so I might have to revise that ID. It still has a remnant tail from the
tadpole stage.
I saw a White-headed Woodpecker in the Ochoco National
Forest, only the third one I've ever seen. No good photos this time.
This morning I got close to some Black Oystercatchers, in nice light.
Nice to get photos of them doing something besides just standing there.
This juvenile Western Gull has found a hefty meal, but I have no idea what it
is.
