Comet Neowise, also known as C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE)
July 2020
Comet Neowise rising in the early morning over Hell Canyon in the
South Dakota Black Hills. Venus and the Pleiades can be seen on the right.
Canon 6D with Sigma 35mm art lens.
A closer view of Comet Neowise. The blue ion tail stretches straight
back from the comet while the thick dust tail exhibits synchronic
bands or striae, due to the sorting of particles in the tail.
Canon 6D, 200mm Canon f2.8 lens, Astrotrac, twenty-four 20 second
exposures stacked in Deep Sky Tracker.
Here's single frame taken at 200mm that caught a meteor.
While taking 15 second exposures I saw a brief flash in the area of
the comet. The meteor was perfectly captured.
Another image over Hell Canyon.
