Some Photos from Ajo, Arizona
October 18, 2019

A wolf spider carrying her young. Wolf spiders are known
for this but it is the first time I've photographed it.

A tighter crop to show more detail. Those are all young spiders on her abdomen.

An American White Pelican that was circling the sewage treatment
ponds when I arrived. It landed for about 15 minutes then
took off.  Another rare bird in the Sonoran Desert.

I was watching F-16's training early one morning when I noticed the vapor
clouds building over the jet. This one is banking hard at high speed.

This phenomenon is caused by the aerodynamics of the wings creating an area of low
pressure over the top of the jet. In the mornings when the dew points are high, the low
pressure creates visible vapor that then trails out behind the jet when it turns.
