Some Photos from the Ajo, Arizona Area

A female Hepatic Tanager at the golf course. A very odd bird to see in the Sonoran Desert.

Here's the really odd one. I've never seen a Western Tanager this drab
before. Apparently a very young bird, the gape is still fleshy and yellow.
It has the tanager bill, wing bars, a little bit of yellow in the feathers.
It was the same size as the other Western Tanager coming to water.

A view from the backside.

It is always a treat to get a nice shot of a Black-throated
Gray Warbler (or any warbler for that matter)!

Here's a more typical Western Tanager. I found this to be a good spot to
watch, there is water leaking from a pipe under this iron fence and I can
park right next to it. Light is perfect in the early morning. Can't say I care
much for the perch but it should be a productive spot for photography.

Three Snowy Egrets and a Great Egret flying over the golf course.
