This morning I set up the scope and put the Thousand Oaks solar filter on so
I could photograph the transit of Mercury across the sun. This is a rare
event, the next transit that will be visible in North America is in 2049. I took quite a
few images and this one seems to be the best. The transit lasted about 6 hours but it was
already in progress here in Arizona at sunrise. People in the eastern part of the United States
got to see the entire transit.
