The Orion constellation at 35 mm. Betelgeuse is the orange
star in the lower left, Barnard's
Loop is below the constellation and nebulas, in the upper right is bright blue
Rigel and
the Witchhead Nebula. To the left is the Lamda Orionis, also known as SH2 264.
NGC 2903 in Leo.
Thor's Helmet. With the C8 I can nearly fill the frame with this nebula.
The Running Man Nebula, located near the Orion Nebula, which is too big for the
C8.
A small planetary nebula, NGC 1514. I really like this one and am looking
forward to getting more data on it.
M82, the Cigar Galaxy (a starburst galaxy) in Ursa Major.
The Owl Nebula, M97, in Ursa Major. Another small planetary nebula, its
apparent size is 3 arc minutes in diameter but actual diameter is about 2 light
years.
I've photographed this before with the 500mm lens, but with the C8 it is much
better defined.
The Intergalactic Wanderer, NGC 2419, is a huge star cluster but is so far away
it appears to be small and faint. At 300,000 light years distant, it is a now
known to orbit the Milky Way Galaxy.
