My first Sonoran Collared Lizard of the spring. Child's Mountain Road.

Unknown species of dragonfly, quite striking in color. I posted it on
BugGuide and should have an ID soon, so check back if interested. UPDATE: Roseate Skimmer (thanks to Mark Otnes).

I ran across a family group of Harris's Antelope Ground Squirrels.
There were five little ones, these two thought they were safe in the rock crevice.

This one was braver and wanted to see what the big thing on two legs was. Its body needs to catch up to its head.

Here's mom, trying to keep control of the situation.

Twining Snapdragon near Darby Well.

Monkey Flower in Alamo Canyon

I think this is Lemmon's Butterweed, Senecio lemmonii, but it could be something closely related. Alamo Canyon.
