I found a Sprague's Pipit at the golf course
and several birders from
around the state came to look for it, a few of them were successful. One of them
did not
find the pipit but found a Lapland Longspur, which is very rare this far south.
Some Cassin's Finches in the city park.
The Lapland Longspur found by a visiting birder who was seeking the Sprague's
Pipit.
Here's the International Space Station (ISS) in my uncropped photo, pretty
small!
Even at 700mm focal length there isn't much to see, but it is fun trying to
capturing it.
It is about 250 miles up there, traveling at 17,000 mph. It is very bright and
easy to see even with no visual aids.
Want to know when to look for it? Here's a
LINK.
Here is the finished product. It wasn't turned optimally to expose a larger
surface area.
I will try again on Tuesday if it isn't cloudy.
A NASA image showing the ISS in about the same position as my image.
The Moon, shot while waiting for the ISS last night.
