Not a lifer but I really needed better photos of this species.
Like a Rufous Hummingbird but with a green back. I saw one in Texas in 2010 but didn't get any good photos.
The very narrow outer retrices and lack of a notch on R2 are diagnostic. Since a very small percentage of
male Rufous Hummingbirds may have some green on the back this verifies the ID.
