M1, the Crab Nebula. This is much better than my previous attempts.
This is a small object in our view, less than 10 arc minutes, so it is
difficult to image at 500mm. I'm pretty happy with the detail I got.
A supernova remnant, the Crab Nebula is about 6500 light years
distant and 11 light years in diameter.

Here are two versions of the Great Orion Nebula. The one above is
less aggressively stretched, so the surrounding dust clouds don't show as much.
I like the color better.

In this version, faint dust clouds can be seen across the bottom and right sides.
Colors are harder to control, especially in the core of the nebula, where the
Trapezium is located. Eventually I want to combine all this
into one great image, but first I need to take more photos.
