This is part of the Seagull Nebula. I can only get about half of it in the frame at 500mm. I need to use the 200 f2.8 sometime to show the entire nebula. It is actually several nebulas, located about 5 degrees from Sirius.
M 78 and part of Barnard's Loop. M 78 is a reflection nebula in Orion.
Here's a tighter crop. There are thick, interstellar dust clouds in the center, thinner clouds in the lower right and in the upper left, clear, empty space.
