I finally got a photo of one hopping, this one is coming out of the burrow.
The fur-lined cheek pouches are full of seeds, which they store in their burrow complexes.
I put out some gerbil food to entice it to come out more frequently, but it was still very shy around
light, I had to use prefocused shooting and a night vision monocular.
