Madera Canyon

By far my best Elegant Trogon photos ever. This bird landed
low, in the open, and stayed in one place long enough to get lots of photos.
The light was good.

This image was in full sun, a bit further away but the light was excellent.
I like how it is framed in the branches.

Doesn't get much better than this! Most of my older photos I had to
shoot at a bird high in the trees, sticks in the way, poor light, too far away, always something.

I have plenty more to work on, but for now these are my favorites.
It isn't hard to see why so many birders seek this bird.

Brown-throated race of the House Wren, backlit and singing.

A male Broad-billed Hummingbird nectaring at a thistle.
