Photos from the Cave Creek and Paradise area, Chiricahua Mountains
This morning I went to the Paradise Cemetery to look for Montezuma Quail like I
have done many times before.
This time I saw two, the first Montezuma Quail I've seen that weren't flying as
I flushed them.
All I got was some distant shots, but I'll go back and set up a blind, maybe I
can get some better shots. Here's the male.
Desert Black Swallowtail
Acmon Blue, being attacked by an ant.
Leda Ministreak. I think I saw one of these before (last winter out by Ajo)
but it was so worn that it was difficult to be sure what it was. This one
is in excellent condition.
Juniper Hairstreak, really common here right now.
Another variation of the Bordered Patch, no orange markings at all.
