Comet 46P/Wirtanen (2018), now at magnitude 6, it is visible with binoculars in
dark sky, low in the south, above Fornax. I can almost convince myself I can see it
without binoculars, but if so, it is extremely faint. It is forecast to
continue to brighten into December and now it looks like a faint tail is forming.
It will be climbing higher in the night sky and moving toward Taurus. Note:
if you go out to look for it, don't expect it to look like this. Right now
it is just a faint smudge of nebulosity about the size of a full moon.
Ten minutes of exposure at ISO 1600, f4.5, images stacked in Deep Sky Stacker.

While waiting for the comet to rise high enough, I took some images of the Sculptor Galaxy.

I put on the 1.4 teleconverter and took more Lawrence's Goldfinches at 700mm focal length.

I guess I will quit posting this species now.

A Spotted Towhee at Darby Well. First one I've seen around here in a long time.

Another Cassin's Vireo at Darby Well.
