Some photos from Buenos Aires NWR area
April 8, 2019

The first good photos I've ever taken of the Spotted Ground
Squirrel. I saw one last spring but it was very wary.

A male, it was pretty fearless once is got used to me being there.

Spotted Ground Squirrel.

Rufous-winged Sparrow on cholla.

Mariposa Lilies are blooming. Not sure which species this is with the yellow petals.

A Gambel's Quail the posed for me just before sunset.

An Arizona Rainbow Cactus, first one I've ever seen.

I photographed the Zodiac Light. I see it quite often but have never tried to
photograph it. It is planetary and other types of cosmic dust in the ecliptic, that is
lit up by the sun in the western or eastern sky. Read more about it
at this Wikipedia LINK.
