My lifer snake, a Nightsnake. Although it was very docile and
easy to handle, they are venomous to their prey, other snakes and lizards.

Nightsnake. The dark collar on the neck is diagnostic.
I saw a large Gopher Snake and a small one. The small ones are
easier to handle and photograph. We call these Bull Snakes in South Dakota.
