Looking for Snakes (and other things) Part 3
April 19, 2019
Zebra-tailed Lizards are everywhere now, I liked the pose of this one.
I've seen more Desert Iguanas in the last two days than I have
seen total in my life. I have never been in Ajo this late in the spring, the
lizards are really getting abundant with the hot weather.
My prize for the morning, a Long-nosed Leopard Lizard. For those who have
been following my trip report, I saw one in New Mexico last fall but could
not get any good shots. This one was on the side of the road and
let me shoot from the truck window but when I tried to get out it
took off and hid under some creosote bushes. These large, predatory
lizards are fast and ferocious. I hope I can find some more!
