Some photos from Madera Canyon area
April 16, 2019

More Elegant Trogon photos this morning.

But something different this time. I have watched the trogon
catch and eat these large caterpillars from oak trees, but I have not been
able to photograph it. This morning I did.

A male Black-chinned Hummingbird at my feeder. It is always
hard to get a good shot of the gorget on this species.

Sagebrush Checkerspot, these are very common now.

My Gila Monster from last night. This is the reticulate
form of Gila Monster, I have yet to see the banded form. It was getting
past sunset so I had to use flash on this.
