Omega Centauri again, but this time I stacked 20 images. Although it is
only 5 degrees above the horizon, it isn't too bad an image. Likely the best I
will ever get of this giant star cluster. I copied the following from Wikipedia:
Located at a distance of 15,800 light-years,
Omega Centauri is the largest globular cluster in the Milky Way at a diameter of
roughly 150 light-years. It is estimated to contain approximately 10 million
stars and a total mass equivalent to 4 million solar masses. Omega Centauri is
so distinctive from the other galactic globular clusters that it is thought to
have an alternate origin as the core remnant of a disrupted dwarf galaxy.
The Crescent Nebula in Cygnus. I've tried this one before but always had
problems with something. This is only 30 minutes total exposure, I need a lot
more for this faint nebula. If you want to see an image taken with the Isaac
Newton Telescope go to this
LINK.
The Eagle Nebula and the Pillars of Creation. I've done this before but this is
the first time with my modified H-alpha camera and new mount.
