The ground water in Alamo Canyon finally started flowing a few weeks ago. Now, these tadpoles have appeared in the pools. They appear to be the tadpoles of the Red-spotted Toad.

Today, in Organ Pipe on the Ajo Mountain Loop. I had only walked about 100 yards up the Arches Trail when this Gila Monster crossed the trail in from of me. I've been hoping to find of these big lizards for years, finally today! This is the Reticulate Gila Monster.

It wasn't exactly cooperative for photos, but I'm not complaining.
