More Astrophotography near Ajo, AZ

This is NGC 1333, an emission nebula in the constellation Perseus. It is small
and
I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but it is not too bad. The darker areas are
clouds of
intersellar dust. Another small emission nebula is visible in the lower right.
I have been plagued by a dark horizontal band that forms in the center of all my
images. It is hard to get rid of it in processing, but I have figured out that
by shooting at ISO 3200, it goes away. My last images of the Pleiades, at ISO
800 and 1600, all had that band, this one doesn't. Of course this is entirely
against all the advice on the internet on how to do astrophotography with a DSLR,
but it works for me. From now on, it is ISO 3200. Of course this means
more noise in the images but noise is much easier to deal with than that band!
The Triangulum Galaxy. My first image of this galaxy with the new G11 mount.
M78. My last image was really bad with that dark horizontal band, so I did it
again at ISO 3200. The results are much better. So now I am thinking about all
the images I need to shoot over to get these results. Oh well.....
