A widefield view of the Orion constellation. At 35 mm focal length, the Great
Orion Nebula looks pretty small. Betelgeuse is the orange star in the lower
left. Barnard's Loop encloses the area below the Great Orion Nebula and
Horsehead Nebula. In the upper right, the bright star is Rigel and the Witchhead
Nebula above that. The large area
of red nebulosity in the left center is the Lambda Orioinis, also known as SH2
264. I may need to work on this image some more, I think it can look much better
than this, but too tired tonight.
