A Trip to the Buckeye, AZ area
January 10, 2017

Two White-tailed Kites have been reported in the area and here they both are.

They were too far out for really good photos, but nothing I can do about that.

Sometimes the numerous Red-tailed Hawks and Northern Harriers would flush up lots of birds from the field. There must have been somewhere over 500 White-faced Ibis there. In this image, there is a Trumpeter Swan, hen Mallard, a drake Northern Pintail, and a Long-billed Curlew in with the ibis. Also an ibis that appears to be scratching its head in flight. They were all feeding in a flooded alfalfa field.

The Trumpeter Swan up close.

This Burrowing Owl was using a hole by an irrigation ditch, I think
this is my only photo of a Burrowing Owl by water.
