The Ring Nebula in the constellation Lyra. I've tried this before but didn't
have good focus.
This is a little better, but the nebula is so small I have hard time even at
700mm focal length.
I finally got a sufficient number of subs to make an image of the Whirlpool
Galaxy that shows the
outflows from the interacting galaxies. Might have to get even more, but for
now, I really like this.
I reworked the Sunflower Galaxy, last time I forgot to correct for lens
vignetting and it showed.
This is the Sombrero Galaxy, M104, in the constellation Virgo. Another one I've
tried in the past with the old Astrotrac, but it is much better with the
Losmandy G11.
Located about 31,000,000 light years away, it is about a 1/3 the size of
the Milky Way Galaxy.
It has a bright nucleus with a large central bulge, and the prominent dust lane
are distinctive features of this galaxy.
