April 25, 2017 at Bosque del Apache NWR, New
Mexico
This is actually from yesterday, before I left Sunny Flats. It is a Nabokov's
Satyr, a specialty of southeast Arizona (but found in Mexico too). I had
photographed one a few years ago but this is a better image.
A Say's Phoebe nest in the entryway to the visitor center at Bosque del Apache
NWR.
Young American Coots being fed....something.
A Southwestern Fence Lizard. A similar species, the Prairie Lizard, occurs in
southwest South Dakota. Years ago the Fence Lizards were all considered one
species but now there are several.
