This was going to be the Elephant Trunk Nebula, but after I got all the shooting
and processing done, I realized that I missed it. The very tip of the Elephant
Trunk Nebula can be seen at the top center. At least I know where it is now. It
is still an interesting image for me. The larger nebula is an HII region known
as IC 1396 and the bright golden star at the left is Mu Cephei, or the Garnet
Star. Anyone who wants to know more can just Google these things. But, the
Garnet Star is huge, it is said it could contain something like two billion of our suns. Go to
this LINK for neat image
showing relative sizes of planets from our solar system and huge stars in the
Milky Way Galaxy.
I took a lot more images of the Cygnus Wall and stacked 99 of them. I think I
will quit now.
I had to try the Eagle Nebula again, in the darkest skies in North America.
This is M11, also known as the Wild Duck Cluster. I don't see anything that
looks like a duck.
