Robber Fly photos from the Black Hills
This robber fly is sucking the juice out of a fly on the window of my truck. If flies think about
such things as watching themselves die, this one is doing it.
The live robber fly is in the genus Diogmites, often called the hanging thieves.
I've been trying to get good photos of this behavior and finally captured a few good ones.
A mated pair, the female is still feeding on a beetle.
