Practicing for the solar eclipse and some night shooting too.
If I can get this good of focus on Monday and the sky is clear, all will be
well.
Sunspot 2671 should be about dead center on the sun on Monday. It helps by
giving
something to focus on. I use a Thousand Oaks solar filter on the front of the
lens to do this, but when totality hits, the filter comes off!
The Deerlick Group and the Stephen's Quintet (in the upper right), two groups of
galaxies. I knew the Stephen's Quintet was going to be small, I need a lot more
focal length for these small galaxies. From Wikipedia:
NGC 7331 Group is a group of galaxies in the constellation
Pegasus. Spiral galaxy NGC 7331 is the brightest member of the group. This group
is also called the Deer Lick Group, and contains four other members; NGC 7335,
NGC 7336, NGC 7337 and NGC 7340, affectionately referred to as the "fleas".
The Soul Nebula. I've done this before, wide angle, including the Heart Nebula
and the Double Cluster, but this is the first time at 500mm.
